Art enables us to find ourselves and loose ourselves at the same time
Liezl Knoll's story first followed a very different path before finding her place in art. After graduating top of her class in Dentistry at the Stellenbosch University, she spent years lecturing and building a successful career, however creativity continued to tug quietly in the background.
Everything changed after attending an art workshop by Dale Elliott. Liezl enrolled in further art studies in Knysna, and by 1998 her artistic journey had fully begun.
Today, her work is recognised for its rich colour, layered texture, and expressive beauty. Her large-scale portraits capture both the softness and quiet strength of women, while her vibrant floral pieces reveal a lifelong love of flowers and colour. Based in the Western Cape, Liezl continues to balance creativity and connection through art that feels both bold and deeply human.
